The MKII Jaguar had a colourful history in the 1960’s. Being the bank robber’s vehicle of choice because of its high speed and large boot space, it was simultaneously used as a police patrol car. Anyone who remembers TVs “The Sweeney” or “Inspector Morse” will have seen MKII’s in both of their “roles”.
More recently, 1960’s Jaguars have become popular wedding cars. Either on its own or with one of Aspirations other cars (perhaps the dark blue EType) a Jaguar always makes for an impressive entrance and photographs at a wedding.
Derived from the Jaguar MKI, the MKII started production in 1959 and enjoyed success in the European Touring Car Championship. The cars stayed in production until the late 60’s when Jaguar’s next generation, the XJ6 took over the mantle.
MKII’s were produced in 3 engine sizes of 2.4, 3.4 and 3.6L. The car was also badged as a Daimler with a 2.5L V8 being available.
Aspiration’s MKII has been well loved through its life. It has its original light blue paintwork and this is matched by a dark blue interior. It has a full length “Everflex” sunroof, wire wheels and a moto lita steering wheel. It has also been fitted with a later 4.2L Jaguar engine and matching automatic gearbox. It turns heads everywhere it goes, both with its looks and its sound.
Whether you are planning a “Bonnie & Clyde” or “Romeo & Juliet” day, we are sure you’ll love our MKII.
